Silver Plating

For applications in electronics, silver is sometimes used for plating copper, as its electrical resistance is lower; more so at higher frequencies due to the skin effect.

Variable capacitors are considered of the highest quality when they have silver-plated plates. Similarly, silver-plated, or even solid silver cables, are prized in audiophile applications; however some experts consider that in practice the plating is often poorly implemented, making the result inferior to similarly priced copper cables.

Brass Plating

Apart from gold, copper & silver another important metal used for electroplating is brass. Brass electroplating is used for the creation of base sculptures. brass electro formation refers to a metal forming process which is formed in thin parts through the electroplating process & is produced as a result of plating a metal skin onto… Continue Reading

Copper Plating

Copper plating is the process in which a layer of copper is deposited on the item to be plated by using an electric current. Three basic types of processes are commercially available based upon the complexing system utilized: alkaline-(several modifications of cyanide and non-cyanide) complexed bath.     Continue Reading

Irridising

Irridising – a chemical conversion coating on aluminium giving excellent bonding qualities for any further painting procedure as well as providing corrosion protection .   Continue Reading

Anodizing

Anodizing – is used for the production of protective and decorative films on aluminium. It provides an attractive decorative finish in a wide range of colours and also provides exceptional corrosion protection necessary to meet the severe conditions of outdoor exposure in architectural applications .     Continue Reading

Electro less Nickel

Electro less Nickel – for applications where the major requirements are a uniform coating thickness, chemical resistance, hardness and resistance to wear. Electro less nickel provides a consistent coating over the complete surface area , even on complex shapes.     Continue Reading

Chemical Blackening

Chemical blackening – a process designed to blacken steel or stainless steel products by penetrating the metal surface to provide durable protection without altering the physical dimensions or properties of the metal itself .     Continue Reading

Polishing

Polishing – polishing refers to the refinement of a surface by removing shallow pits, scratches and blemishes to achieve a near mirror finis. This polishing process often takes 3 or 4 different procedures from start to finish , beginning with a light grind and finishing with a soft mop and fine metal polish. Continue Reading

Zinc Iron

Zinc Iron – Zinc-iron plating is one of several zinc-based alloy finishes that have gained in popularity in recent years—particularly in the automotive industry. It is an alloy plating consisting of 99+% zinc metal along with <1% iron. This alloy composition can produce corrosion protection results that are superior to traditional zinc plating. Its main… Continue Reading

Kalgard

Kalgard – a coating designed to provide exceptional corrosion protection as well as resistance to chemicals at a dry film thickness of 8 – 12 microns. Kalgard not only exceeds the corrosion resistance of traditional hot dip galvanising , but will also not create an excessive build up on the threaded section of fasteners. Continue Reading
